Moulding & Theming

Products comprise rigid and flexible spray foams, machine grade and handpour grade rigid and flexible moulding foams and casting elastomers.

Integral skin polyurethane rigid and flexible moulding foams consist of a cellular core and discreet non-cellular surface layer forming a sandwich structure.  The core and surface layers consist of one and the same material and are formed in a single operation (ie not laminates).

CastorThane SP300

CastorThane SP300 is a 100% water-blown high density rigid spray moulding foam incorporating 10% renewable resource plant oil. It is water blown, especially designed for spray application.

CastorThane SP300 is used to provide additional strength to a range of plastic materials, including abs, polystyrene, polycarbonate etc.

Endurathane GP38M

Endurathane GP38M is a fully formulated 40 kg/m3 moulding foam polyol blend designed to react with Endurathane Part A isocyanate to make a general purpose rigid polyurethane foam with good moulding characteristics.

Endurathane GP38M is formulated with HFC as the blowing agent which has zero ozone depleting potential, as well as below the “Greenstar” VOC threshold.

Endurathane GP48M

Endurathane GP48M is a fully formulated 48 kg/m3 moulding foam polyol blend designed to react with Endurathane Part A isocyanate to make a general purpose rigid polyurethane foam with good moulding characteristics.

Endurathane GP48M is formulated with HFC as the blowing agent which has zero ozone depleting potential, as well as below the “Greenstar” VOC threshold.

MEDIUM TO HIGH DENSITY MOULDING FOAMS

Endurathane Medium to High Density Moulding Foams include Endurathane 100-60, Endurathane 245-60 & Enduraythane 500-60 and they are all water blown moulding foams designed to react with Endurathane Part A isocyanate to make a rigid polyurethane foam with good moulding characteristics. Endurathane moulding foams are suitable for handpour or machine application.

Frequently referred to as structural polyurethane foam, the prime characteristic is a sandwich structure consisting of a microscopic cellular core and discreet non-cellular surface layers.

The core and surface layers consist of one and the same material and are formed in a single operation (ie not laminates). The properties of these foams can be tailored readily to a wide variety of end-uses by variation of the chemistry of the components or of the processing conditions. This is achieved far more easily than is possible for comparable systems such as thermoplastics.

The combination of smooth, hard skins and good mechanical properties at low gross weights coupled with good processing characteristics and wide design freedom, makes Endurathane moulding foams ideal for applications such as decorative and ornamental mouldings, furniture, wall-panelling (wood grain reproduction) panel doors, ornamental legs, decorative drawer fronts and cupboard doors, and many other conventionally wooden products.

Foaming pressures are very low and moulds are lighter and less expensive than those used for thermoplastic injection moulding.

Hyterion S-245 Silicone resin

A two-component, room-temperature-vulcanising (RTV-2) silicone rubber. It is an excellent mould making material because it is easy to process, highly flexible, has good release properties and yields perfect reproductions. Hyterion S-245 RTV-2 silicone rubber is tailored to all practical requirements, ensuring minimum effort and allowing castings of any complexity to be made. No matter what material is used for casting – whether wax, plaster, concrete, GRC, resins; low or large number of castings, maximum fidelity of reproduction is achieved.

Endurathane CSX270 Series

The Endurathane CSX270 series is a blend of polyols fillers, catalyst and pigment which reacts at room temperature to produce a polyurethane elastomer suitable for the encapsulation of electrical components, and the making of moulds, models and prototypes.

Medium cure and medium demould times are a feature of the 270 series which enable high productivity and good mould turnaround.  The demould time and full cure can be reduced with post-curing. The 270 series feature cold processability and cure as low as 0 °C.  The Endurathane 270 series also possess excellent machineability.
