In readiness for the arrival of 2011–12 Volvo Ocean Race fleet into Auckland, 1,700m2 of Ballatini-Strada retro-reflective surfacing was applied to the pedestrian surfaces on Te Wero Island and Bascule bridge that provide access to Karanga Plaza and the Viaduct Events Centre at the Viaduct Harbour on Auckland’s Waterfront.

 

Ballatini-Strada is a coloured surfacing that uses coloured glass beads as aggregate. A combination of Blue, Orange, Green and White retro-reflective Ballatini-Strada surface was laid.
