FIREFREE 88

Firefree Coatings, Inc., is a leading developer of high-quality fire retardant and fire resistant intumescent coatings that will help reduce the spread of fire, minimize smoke and toxic gases that are generated in a fire resulting in flash over. This provides occupants extra time to evacuate a building safely and limits destruction of property. Our products are fire tested at third-party accredited International Accreditation Service (IAS) testing laboratories. Firefree 88 is approved by FM Approvals, listed by ICC (ESR4271, classified by Underwriters Laboratories (U/L) and accepted by NY Material and Equipment Acceptance Division. Firefree Class A is listed by CA SFM Building Materials and listed by ICC (ESR4271).

Firefree 88 Intumescent

Firefree 88 is a premium quality water-based, non-toxic, intumescent fire resistant paint designed for the fire protection of a wide variety of materials including wood, gypsum board (plasterboard, sheetrock), lath and plaster, concrete, masonry, embossed (pressed) metal, thin gauge metal and aluminum, fiberglass, carbon fibre, plastics and other composite materials.

Firefree 88 is our premier intumescent fire resistant paint tested to comply with fire ratings performance prescribed under the International Building Code, per ASTM E 119 (1 and 2 hours), FM 4975, ASTM E 662-97, ASTM E 3675-98, ASTM E 162-98, ASTM E 1354-94, ASTM E 814, ASTM E 84, Room Corner Test (including UBC 8-2, NFPA 286, UBC 26-3), BS 476 Parts 6 & 7, 1530.4, and EN 13501-1.

Firefree 88 is fully tested to provide fire ratings required by the International Building Code for wall assemblies, floor/ceilings assemblies, roof ceiling assemblies and individual structural members.

Firefree Exterior Topcoat

Firefree Exterior Topcoat is a proprietary, premium, 100% acrylic, exterior paint to be used exclusively over surfaces previously coated with Firefree 88, to improve the durability of such products if used in exterior applications in compliance with Firefree Coatings Inc recommendations.

FireFree Exterior Topcoat has passed the weatherization test (ASTM D2898, method B) over the Firefree 88 intumescent coating.

Firefree Coatings Inc founder is an ASTM E 05 committee member that helped design the vent test standards and helped co-write both the new ASTM vent standards as well as the new ASTM eave and soffit fire test standards that are now national standards as per ASTM. He is also a member of the California State Fire Marshals, Chapter 7A. WUI code standards committee, helping to write and finalize new fire standards for wild land areas.
